A brief message explaining why the record failed to import

Examples:

  • Publication type not mapped - the type of publication in Symplectic has not been mapped to RME. Rectify this in Category Mapping.

  • Unable to match internal author - no author with the name given is found in RME

  • Publication does not have any record that matches with the configured preferred source - Investigate the record details and adjust the Preferred Source Configuration.

What is imported?

When importing from Symplectic Elements, all the data supported by RME will be imported into RME Research Output module as defined in the Category Mapping table. Any data that is not listed in this table will be ignored during the import.

A publication that meets all the following criteria will be imported from Symplectic to RME:

The publication type has been mapped to a corresponding RME research output category.

The publication is approved and associated with one or more users (for example, as author or contributor) in Symplectic Elements, and at least one of these matches an RME Personnel record.

If a publication failed or was ignored in an earlier import, it is now eligible and valid.

If the update policy in RME Symplectic configuration is enabled (Enable Update Mode for Symplectic Service? = Yes), the publication a) has been imported previously, b) still has at least one author matching an RME Personnel record, c) has been modified since the last time it was imported, and d) the corresponding RME research output is not marked as Verified at any level.

If the update policy in RME Symplectic configuration is disabled (Enable Update Mode for Symplectic Service? = No), the publication has not been previously imported .

If a publication has more than one source associated with it, the publication will be imported following the preferred source order in the RME Symplectic configuration page.

If an XPath file has been configured, a publication matches the XPath defined in the Preferred Source Configuration. The filter is only used to check if the publication record will be imported; the data source to be imported still follows the precedence set as outlined in the rules above.
