This help page explains how the system applies the data security access defined in a User record to reports. This does not include Crystal reports.
Reports are created in the RME Report Designer. The RPT001 Report Designer Page View, under the Report list, is allocated to provide access to RME Designer so users can create and design reports for RME. For details, refer to the RME Report Designer Guide.
The data security access process for a report is similar to the process for core records. The difference is that report access is assigned via a role.
A report is added to one or more roles via the path RME > Users > Roles > Report Role Access related item.
When a user is set up, data access security is defined in the User record, as outlined in data access security. When a role is assigned, the report access defined for that role is given to the user.
When a user views a report, the data in the report is filtered by the user's data security access (org. unit/s and children units, and defined codes: Contract Type, Ethics Category, Funding Activity, Project Type).
