About this feeder

The RME HR Feeder is designed for institutions to import the personnel data from a Human Resources (HR) system to RME regularly so that RME always has the most up to date HR information. It is normally scheduled to run as a Windows scheduled task using the RME Feeder Service Configuration Utility.

Data feed and field details: You can view low-level details for this feeder in the System > Documentation > Feeder Service page (under HR Feeder).

Note The toolbar on this page offers options that are relevant for the feature, such as Save. Other options that are standard for other RME pages, such as New, Next and Previous are not relevant and are not displayed.

Menu path: RME > Integrations > HR Feeder Service

Configure the feeder service

The sections below provide information to help you complete the fields in this page. For details about scheduling the feeder service, refer to the RME HR Feeder Guide (PDF) provided separately in the RME build package when you have the HR product key.

Before running the service, ensure that you have set up source data files using comma delimited CSV files as the fixed source for the file format. You can download a template that provides the data headers and the order you must use from RME > System > Documentation > Feeder Service. For details, see: Feeder Service.

HR Feeder Service: Fields

Field or section

(in layout order)

Description

Source File Location

(HR Feeder Path)

Where in your network all the source files for the RME HR Feeder are or will be located

When setting up the location, it is important to grant necessary read and write access permissions to the user under whose account the RME Finance Feeder Windows scheduled task will run. The program that generates the Finance source data file must be able to access the network location with write access.

All CSV files in the root network location will be considered as files for processing and will be processed at the next scheduled time.

Data Selection

Data items that you want to update with the feeder

This section lists all HR data items in RME that are available for each HR Feeder source file. Your HR system may not have all of this information, or you may prefer the data to be maintained in RME rather than in the HR system.

Important! Be aware that this selection only applies to the update function. When a new record is created, all data items will be imported from the feeder source file regardless of the selection in this section.

For example, if Preferred First Name is not selected, the feeder will only import the value for the Preferred First Name field from the source when a new HR record is created. For any existing HR record, the value from the source will be ignored during the subsequent feeder import.

Role Allocation

Roles to allocate to new users created during the import

To add a rule for role allocation, click Add at the top of the related item grid. See: Role Allocation.

To delete a role allocation record, select the box to the left of it in the grid to tick it, and select the Delete link at the top right of the grid.
