Role Allocation Configuration - Student Feeder

The RME Student Feeder can be configured to allocate roles to new users created during the import. A user name must be specified for the Personnel record to make the user creation and role allocation to work.

You can configure a rule for role allocation for newly-created users based on data values for a set of fields.

Menu path: RME > Integrations > Student Feeder Service > Role Allocation

Configure role allocation

1.     In the RME menu, go to Student Feeder Service.

2.     In the Student Feeder Service page, go to the related item at the bottom of the page.

3.     At the far right of the related item, click Add.

4.     In the Role dropdown, select the role for allocation, from a defined list of roles.

5.     In the section below, the following Personnel fields are shown for role allocation configuration:

        Person Type

        Person Classification

        Person Category

6.     For the relevant Personnel field, select the value you want to use from the dropdown. If you don't want to use one of these, leave as Not Specified.

7.     In the toolbar, click Save. To go back to the previous page, click it in the breadcrumb trail or use your browser Back button. A new user added via the Student feeder service will be automatically assigned the defined role if an exact match is found for the data fields configured for the rule.

If user role allocation has been configured for an RME role with the role name of Researcher or Student, all access for the following current RME categories will be automatically granted to the new user:

        Project types

        Contract types

        Fund scheme types

        Ethics categories
