The RME HR Feeder can be configured to allocate roles to new users created during the import. To finely control the role allocation, RME allows you to define rules for each role allocation. A username must be specified for the Personnel record to make the user creation and role allocation to work.
Menu path: RME > Integrations > HR Feeder Service > Role Allocation
1. In the RME menu, go to Integrations > HR Feeder Service.
2. In the HR Feeder Service page, go to the Role Allocation related item at the bottom of the page.
3. At the far right of the related item, click Add.
4. In the Role dropdown, select the role for allocation, from a list of roles in the system.
5. In the fields below the Role dropdown, configure the rule for role allocation. For each Personnel record field that is relevant for the rule you want to create, select the value from the dropdown. If you don't want to use one of these, leave as Not Specified. When a new RME user is created, each rule will check the specified Personnel fields for a match. If all the fields specified in the rule match the details for a new user, the role will be allocated to them.
6. In the toolbar, click Save. To
go back to the previous page, click it in the breadcrumb trail or use
your browser Back button.
A new user added via the HR feeder service will be automatically assigned
the defined role if an exact match is found for the data fields configured
for the rule.
If user role allocation has been configured for an RME role with the role
name of Researcher or Student,
data security access will be automatically granted to the new user for:
• all project types
• all contract types
• all fund scheme types
• all ethics categories
