About this page

This related item is used to record non-investigator staff positions or people involved in the project, so that a defined salaries for these positions or people can be included in the project cost calculation in the Costing and Pricing Tool.

Sometimes at the start of a project, the positions required may be known but not always the identity of the staff members. The Name and Description fields are text entry only for flexibility, so you can add details for either a position or a person.

eForm relationship: Data from a New Staff RIC in an Research Project Request (RPR) eForm to capture project costs and requirements can be pushed to this related item.

Menu path: RME menu > Projects (search) > Project > New Staff

 

Add new staff

1.     In the Projects record, go to the New Staff related item.

2.     At the far right of the related item, click Add.

3.     Complete the fields, using the table below as a guide.

4.     In the toolbar, click Save. To go back to the previous page, click it in the breadcrumb trail or use your browser Back button.

New Staff: Fields

Default Field Name

Description

AOU

Administrative organisational unit for the new staff member

Chargeable Rate

Consultancy rate charged for the new staff member, if relevant

This may be populated with a rate entered in an RPR eForm (Linked Personnel RIC or New Staff RIC), or the highest out of the individual and institution consultancy rates.

Must be greater or equal to the highest of the individual or institution consultancy rate. Cannot be negative.

Nature of the position, from a defined list

External Salary Package

Category group of the external salary package from a defined list, if the rules applied to the project have an external salary package defined in the Funding Rules configuration page

Annual salary for the selected external salary package and level for the person, populated from an eForm

Manage New Staff records

You manage related items in the core page. Click the Add, Delete and Export links at the right of the related item in the Project record.
