This page is used to view or define category items of a category; the actual values displayed in dropdowns in RME.
Some categories are system categories and you cannot modify the items. You can only add items to a category if the Items Allowed? option is Yes.
If you are viewing a sub-group, where no Category Items table is shown, you can add a category to it by clicking the New button on the toolbar. You can then add items to that category. For example, in Person Related Categories, the Employment Type category group only allows for sub-groups to be added to it. For each sub-group, you need to add a category, then add items for that category. See: Employment Type categories
Menu path: RME > Setup > Categories > Category Items
1. From the RME menu, select Setup > Categories.
2. Browse the Category Group tree to find and display the relevant category. For some, if there are sub-groups defined, you may need to drill down to the actual category with the Category Items listed, or add a new category.
3. The category details are displayed with a list of existing category items. To the top right of the list, click Add. A new page will open for you to fill in necessary information.
4. In the new page, complete the details for the category item, using the Category Item fields table below as a guide. Enter them in the order of progression of the salary structure - start with the first level or step, then the next level or step and so on.
5. Click Save. To see your additions or changes, refresh the page manually. Categories are not automatically refreshed when the page is displayed for performance reasons; they are cached in the browser daily. Depending on your web browser, click the Reload or Refresh button, or try Ctrl + F5 or Shift + F5 keys.
