Indexation Percentage (ReCaP)

This page is used by RME administrators to maintain the indexation percentages used in salary calculations in both Research Costing and Pricing (ReCaP) and the Costing and Pricing Tool.

Menu path: RME menu > Projects > Salary and Indexation (ReCaP) > Indexation Percentage

 

Add or edit an indexation percentage

1.     In the Salary Rates page, go to the Indexation Percentage related item.

2.     At the far right of the related item, click Add. To edit an existing percentage, click the entry in the related item grid.

3.     Complete the fields, using the table below as a guide.

4.     In the toolbar, click Save. To go back to the previous page, click it in the breadcrumb trail or use your browser Back button.

Indexation Percentage: Fields

Field

Description

Dates Applicable On

Date/s on which the indexation percentage applies

•        Use the date picker or enter the date in the format: Day/Month.

•        You can nominate more than one by clicking the Plus + icon, for example, if you have salary increases more than once a year.

Indexation Percentage

Percentage of indexation, for example 1.50

The value can only be up to 13 digits, to two decimal places.

warning-icon Salary is only calculated in ReCaP if at least one indexation percentage is recorded

Start Date

Date from which the Indexation Percentage starts to apply, based on the date/s defined in the Dates Applicable On field

The percentage is not applied directly on this date; the percentage will apply to salary calculations from the next date in the Dates Applicable On field.

•        Use the date picker or enter the date in the format: DD/MM/YYYY.

•        You cannot have more than one indexation percentage record with the same start date.
 

Example

An increase of 1.5% is decided on the 1st of December. The institution has two rounds of salary increases per year, one at the end of November and another in May. In this case, the fields would be completed as follows:

1/12/2016

Indexation Percentage

1.5

Dates Applicable On

31 November

31 May

The increase will next apply from 31st May because the start date for this percentage, Dec 1, is after the first set applicable date of 31st November.

 

Manage Indexation Percentage records

You manage these records in the core page. Click the Add or Delete links at the right of the related item in Salary Rates.
