Research Costing and Pricing Tool (ReCaP) overview

This page supports ReCaP, available in RME versions since 2018. A revised Costing and Pricing Tool was implemented in version 7.7.0 in mid-2021.

RME's Research Costing and Pricing is a component that integrates with the RME web application to capture project costs, and calculate the overall cost and price of projects based on defined funding guidelines. It is available when the Research Costing and Pricing product key is applied.

It is designed to help researchers seek project approval, enter project costs, and apply for funding using RME eForms. Once a project is approved, it enables project leaders and administrative staff to manage the project. The collected data can be used to update your institution's  finance system, and generate costing and pricing outputs that can be provided to funding bodies and other external parties.

If ReCaP is used at your institution:

RME administrators can configure it in RME pages listed in the table below, if they have been allocated one of the following roles (or the same Page Views as these roles): RME Application Admin and Grants/Projects Admin.

RME administrators or eForm designers can incorporate fields and data from ReCaP in an eForm. For details, see the RME Designer documentation.

Users with permission to access ReCaP can enter data and generate project costing and pricing. A button to access the tool is provided in relevant Project record pages, and can be offered in eForms.

When you open ReCaP, a dedicated Help link provides context-sensitive online help for pages within the component.
