About this page

This page is used to record details for the panel, including information about the current status, type, valid from and to dates, and modules in RME where the panel can be added as an assessor panel.

After entering the core information, you can enter other information in the related items.

Menu path: RME > Setup > Panels (Search) > Panels

 

Add a panel

1.     From the RME menu, select Setup > Panel.

2.     In the toolbar, click the New button.

3.     Complete the fields, using the table below as a guide.

4.     In the toolbar, click Save. To go back to the previous page, click it in the breadcrumb trail or use your browser Back button. When the details are saved, related items become available: Classifications, Facilities, Panel Members and Significant Events.

Unique panel code

This code can be used in the quick search field on the Panel home page to quickly locate the panel record.

The system can be configured to generate the panel code automatically in User Codes Configuration.

Comments

Any additional information about the panel

Committee Code

Lookup to search for and add a committee as a panel

Current?

Yes by default

Indicates if the panel is currently active

If the panel is no longer current but you want to retain the record for historical purposes, slide this to No.

Only current records are listed on the Panel search page by default.

Ext. Organisation

Only available if the panel type is External

Lookup to search for and add an external organisation, from a defined list of organisations in the system

The list may contain internal organisations including the Primary which represents your institution. Choose carefully.

Modules

Used to indicate the relevant RME module/s, eForm domain/s or area/s for the panel

This is for information purposes only, it does not limit where the panel can be selected via a lookup.

Tick the checkbox next to each relevant option; can be more than one.

 

Committee > Module option

Description

All

Panel is relevant in all modules and eForm domains (except Research Outputs)

Ethics

Panel is relevant for the Ethics module and Ethics eForms

Personnel

Panel is relevant for personnel-related activities in any module

Postgraduate

Panel is relevant for postgraduate activities, the HDR Student module, HDRCM and HDR PR eForms

Projects

Panel is relevant for the Project module and Research Project Request (RPR) eForms

Name for the panel

Org. Unit

Only available if the panel type is Internal

Lookup to search for and add an org. unit (department, school, faculty) from a defined list

Selection Criteria

Description of the selection criteria for members of the panel (free text)

Type *

Mandatory

Type of panel, such as External or Internal, from a defined system list

Valid From

First date from which the panel is valid

Valid To

Date after which the panel is no longer valid

   

Timeline

A graphic representation of Significant Events related to the Panel record.

 

Manage Panel Details records

You manage core records from the module search page, Results tab. Select records in the grid and use the New, Delete or Export buttons on the toolbar in  Panels search.
