This page is used to configure the examination outcome category items for a defined combination of assessment level, examination type and course level. When configured, examiners and HDR administrators will only see the outcomes specific to the assessment level and course level for an examination in Outcome dropdowns in eForms and module records.

This allows HDR administrators to set different assessment outcomes for examinations depending on the assessment level, examination type and course (award) level. For example, at the assessment level, examiners will need to use different outcomes to authorised university academic users or HDR administrators. At the course level, a PhD course could have six relevant outcomes, but a Masters may only have five, while a re-submission or re-examination may only need four different outcomes.

Category items available for selection are sourced from the Assessment category group (HDR_ASSESSMENT), maintained in RME > Setup > Categories under HDR and Scholarship Related Categories, HDR Related Categories.

If no configuration is defined for a combination of assessment level, examination type and course  level, Outcome dropdowns in Student core records and eForms based on the Submission and Examination and Examiner Outcome eForm template categories, will list all the current items under the Assessment category group.

Open an existing examination outcome configuration

In the HDR Configuration page, click the Open icon next to the outcome in the grid to open the entry.

 

Define a new examination outcome configuration

1.     In the HDR Configuration page - Examination Outcomes tab, click New in the toolbar.

2.     Select the Assessment Level, Examination Type and Course Level. The combination must be unique.

3.     Complete the fields, using the table below as a guide.

4.     In the toolbar, click Save. To go back to the previous page, click it in the breadcrumb trail or use your browser Back button.

Select the level for the assessment

•        Examiner: Outcomes intended for use by examiners

•        University: Outcomes intended for authorised university academic users or HDR administrators

The combination of Assessment Level, Examination Type and Course Level must be unique.

Course Level *

Mandatory

Select from the list of available course (award) levels, such as Masters or PhD

The combination of Assessment Level, Examination Type and Course Level must be unique.

Select from the list of available examination types, such as oral examination or thesis examination

The combination of Assessment Level, Examination Type and Course Level must be unique.
