This related item is used to group together the clauses that belong to a clause set. The individual clauses need to be created first, before you can add them to a clause set. See: Clause Definition search.
If you need to modify the content of a clause for a clause set, you can edit it within the clause set. That way, the source clause will not be changed. When you save the changed clause content, the status of the clause is marked as 'Custom'.
When a clause definition text is updated, the change is reflected in all the contracts where the clause set is used and hasn't been changed within the contract.
