This main search page of the Ethics module is used to search for, view and manage ethics core records. The Ethics module is used to collect and maintain information relating to human, animal or biosafety ethics applications and approvals, ethics clearance and ethics committee outcomes.
Ethics clearances may be linked to other relevant RME modules and an ethics clearance summary displayed when linked to a funding application, research project, contract, fund source or postgraduate student record.
Built-in module and record-level security features allow you to restrict access to this sensitive information to the degree required. The module is configurable so you can define various types of records to manage clearances for human ethics, animal ethics, bio-safety, chemical, dangerous substances, ionizing radiation or any other type of clearance purpose.
Ethics application records are used to monitor the progress and outcome of an application. They include information about the linked project, funding body, organisational responsibilities, experimental methods, personnel, licenses required and committees assigned to review the application. Maintaining ethics application records is an ongoing process — as the status of an application changes, the corresponding record is updated.

Menu path: RME menu > Ethics
Basic search only displays on core module search pages, when you select it from the module header in the RME menu.
Use the Advanced search tab for searches that involve fields not offered in basic search, or for related items and eForm listing pages.
To open a record, you can either:
• Select the Open icon next to the record in the grid.
• Tick the checkbox to the left of the record and click Open in the toolbar.

The Action button in the toolbar provides access to the following administrative actions for this module:
• Batch Significant Events to update selected Significant Events with the same details
• Bulk Update to make the same change/s to multiple records at the same time
• Ethics eForms are used to capture and process information related to ethics applications online.
