About this page

This sub-item from the Enrolment & Progress related item for a Student record is used to record the subjects for a student's enrolled course.

•        You can add one or more subjects to a course, and more than one can be marked as current.

•        A subject can only be added once per course.

Fields are also available in:

•        Advanced search to search for students or courses based on linked subjects, depending on your access and permissions

•        Reports

•        Emails -  for example, for Significant Events to notify students about a subject.

There is also a Subjects related item in a Course record. When a new Course enrolment record is created, either by manually entering details or via an API or the Student Feeder, the current linked subjects  are automatically copied to this Subjects related item for the student. The following fields are populated: Course Code, Course Name, Compulsory?, Current?. If changes are made to the Course enrolment record, subject details will not be re-copied.

Add a subject

You can only add if the related enrolment is current.

1.     In the Student record, open the Enrolment & Progress related item and select the relevant course enrolment from the grid.

2.     Open the Enrolment Extensions sub-item.

3.     At the far right of the grid, click Add.

4.     Complete the fields, using the tables below as a guide.

5.     In the toolbar, click Save. To go back to the previous page, click it in the breadcrumb trail or use your browser Back button.

Attempt

Number of times the student has attempted the subject

This field is used when the Allow multiple attempts for the same subject per course enrolment setting is Yes in HDR Configuration.

Compulsory?

Indicates whether the subject must be completed for the student to pass the course

Current?

Indicates if the subject is active for the course

Session Year

Year of the session, from a defined list

Subject Code *

Code for the subject, from a defined list

If the HDR Configuration setting Allow multiple attempts for the same subject per course enrolment is Yes, you can add the same subject code more than once with a unique Attempt value. If the setting is No, you can only add a subject code once per course enrolment.

Type of subject, according to your institution's schema

Manage Subject records

You manage sub-items in the related item. Click the Add, Delete and Export links in Enrolment & Progress.
