About this topic

This related item stores all the employment positions for a person. Positions that are no longer applicable for the person should be made non-current.

Menu path: RME > Personnel > Personnel (Search) > Personnel > Employment Details

 

Add Employment Details

1.     In the Personnel record, open the Employment Details related item.

2.     At the far right of the related item, click Add.

3.     Complete the fields, using the table below as a guide.

4.     In the toolbar, click Save. To go back to the previous page, click it in the breadcrumb trail or use your browser Back button.

Has Allowance?

Only available when the Costing and Pricing product key is applied

Used to indicate whether the person receives one or more allowances in addition to salary

For example, an allowance may be given for a position, such as Head of Department allowance, or it may be a negotiated amount. Due to the confidential nature of this information, the allowance value cannot be stored in RME. The intention of this flag is to be used as a trigger to notify RME administrators when an investigator on a project has an allowance. They can then manually enter the allowance amount in a strictly controlled page of an eForm application. For details, refer to the RME Costing and Pricing Overview document.

Held From

Starting date for the position

Note icon If the Costing and Pricing Tool is used, and step progression is enabled in Institution Level rules, set as Employment Anniversary Date, the date entered in this field for the primary record (Employment Details record selected in the Job Title field in the eForm) is used as the annual date on which step progression will be applied. If this field is blank, step progression will not be included for salary calculation.

End date for the position

Industry Code

Industry type, from a defined list

Source

Org. Unit Code

Lookup to add the org. unit affiliation for the position, if different to the person's core record org. unit

On-Cost Pattern

Only available when the Costing and Pricing product key is applied

Used to select a person's assigned on-cost pattern related to salary, if these are used at your institution, from a defined list

For this to be used successfully for salary calculations in the Costing and Pricing Tool, on-cost patterns must be set up as category items (under Person related Categories > On-Cost Pattern group) and the On-Cost Method selected in CPT Configuration must be On-Cost Pattern.

Manage Employment Details records

You manage core records from the module search page, Results tab. Select records in the grid and select the New, Delete and Export buttons on the toolbar in Personnel.
