About this page

This page is used to record information about a book type of research output. These details will be copied to a new research output record when the book is selected, if the corresponding fields are selected in the Research Outputs category.

Menu path: RME > Research Outputs > Books (Search) > Books

 

Add new book details

1.     In the RME menu, select Research Outputs > Books.

2.     In the toolbar, click the New button.

3.     Complete the fields, using the table below as a guide.

4.     In the toolbar, click Save. To go back to the previous page, click it in the breadcrumb trail or use your browser Back button. When the details are saved, a related item becomes available: Book ISBN.

Default Field Label

Description

City Published

City where the book was published

Country Published

Country in which the book was published, from a defined list

Source

Current?

Yes by default

Indicates if the book record is currently active

Non-current book records will not be available for selection when entering a Book Chapter research output.

Edition

Edition of the book

Editors

Editors of the book

For Review?

No by default

Indicates if the book details need to be reviewed

Publisher

Lookup to search for and select the desired publisher

Source

Series

Series name or number, if the book is part of a series

Title *

Mandatory

HTML book title

The title can be in any language and can also include formatting (such as bold) if desired, using the format toolbar. See: Text editing toolbar

Total Chapters

Total number of chapters in the book

Year Published *

Mandatory

Year this edition of the book was published

 
 

Manage Book records

You manage core records from the module search page, Results tab. Select records in the grid and use the New, Delete or Export buttons on the toolbar in  Books search.
