About this page

This page is used to enter information about a new parent journal if it doesn't exist in the system. These details will be copied to a new research output record when the journal is selected, if the corresponding fields are selected in the Research Outputs category.

Menu path: RME > Research Outputs > Journals (Search) > Journals

 

Add new journal details

1.     In the RME menu, select Research Outputs > Journals.

2.     In the toolbar, click the New button.

3.     Complete the fields, using the table below as a guide.

4.     In the toolbar, click Save. To go back to the previous page, click it in the breadcrumb trail or use your browser Back button. When the details are saved, related items become available: Classifications, Journal ISSN and Journal Metrics.

Journal Details: Fields

Default Field Label

Description

City Published

City in which the journal is published

Country Published

Country in which the journal is published, from a defined list

Source

Current?

Yes by default

Indicates if the journal is currently active

Non-current journals will not be available for selection when entering a research output.

For Review?

Yes by default

Indicates if the journal details need to be reviewed

Once reviewed, the option can be changed to No.

Publisher

Lookup to search for and select the publisher

Source

Publisher Name

Read only

Selected publisher's name

Title *

Mandatory

HTML journal title

The title can be in any language and can also include formatting (such as bold) if desired, using the format toolbar. See: Text editing toolbar
 

Manage Journal records

You manage core records from the module search page, Results tab. Select records in the grid and use the New, Delete or Export buttons on the toolbar in  Journals.
