Role Significant Event Access

About this page

This page is used to control access to events for roles. This will control the options listed in the Event and Parent Event dropdowns in a Significant Event record for any core module. These event categories are created in RME > Setup > Categories for the relevant module. For details, see: Significant Event categories by module below.

By default, all roles are assigned access to all events. When a new event is added as a category, it will be automatically assigned to all roles.

If you want to remove event access for a role, un-assign it, as outlined below. You can also re-assign any event that was un-assigned.

If you use RME APIs to create Significant Event records, this access control is applied. Be aware that if you create an event that is not assigned to a role, users with that role will not be able to see the Significant Event record.

Menu path: RME > Users > Roles (Search) > Roles > Role Sig Event Access

View existing events

1.     In the Role record, open the Role Significant Event Access related item (or customised label). A list of existing events are displayed.

2.     To view an existing event, click the Open icon next to it in the grid.

3.     A list of all events for the module display, including the one you selected.

Un-assign event access from a role

All roles are assigned access to all events in each module by default. To remove access, you can un-assign it.

1.     In the Role record, open the Role Significant Event Access related item.

2.     At the far right of the grid, click Add.

3.     In the resulting page, in the Module dropdown, select the module that you want to edit. All events for the selected module are listed.

4.     For each event that you want to remove from the role, un-tick the checkbox in the first column. If you want to un-assign all the events for that role, un-tick the checkbox in the column header.

5.     Click Save. All users with that role will not see the event/s listed when creating Significant Event records. Any previous events of this type that were previously listed in the relevant core Significant Event related item will be removed.

Re-assign event access to a role

If event access was removed and you wish to re-assign it, follow the steps below:

1.     In the Role record, open the Role Significant Event Access related item.

2.     At the far right of the related item, click Add.

3.     In the Module dropdown, select the relevant module. All events for the selected module are listed.

4.      For each event you want to assign to the role, tick the checkbox in the first column. If you want to assign all the events for that module, tick the checkbox in the column header.

5.     Click Save. All users with that role will see the event/s listed when creating Significant Event records.
