A role is a set of defined access to Page Views, eForm templates, reports, and core Significant Events created for a particular type of user. Some system-defined roles with defined Page Views and some page actions are provided with the system. You can modify these to suit.
When you allocate Page Views to the role, you can set the appropriate level of access. Some Page Views also offer page actions. For example, the Significant Events page in each module has a Significant Event Batching action, which is usually assigned to administrative roles. You can assign these actions when allocating the Page View to a role.
All users assigned with a role will automatically have access to the pages, page actions, eForm templates, reports and Significant Events defined for the role.
If the Copy button on the toolbar is active, you can copy a Role record to edit it, as a quick way to create a new role with a similar set of pages, actions, eForm templates, reports and events.
