This Costing and Pricing Tool page is used to review the total cash and in-kind contributions provided by the institution for the project.

The page is divided into two sections for Institution In-kind Contributions and Institution Cash Contributions. For each of these sections, a total amount displays at the bottom. The Total Cash and In-kind Contributions for the institution displays at the bottom of the page.

GST is not applied to internal fund schemes. Amounts allocated to internal fund schemes are not included in price calculations in the Project Price page.

Indirect Cost Recovery (ICR) is not applied to in-kind amounts or to internal cash contributions.

This page supports the Costing and Pricing Tool (CPT), which was implemented in version 7.7.0 in mid-2021. Research Costing and Pricing (ReCaP) is a separate tool.

Prerequisites

This page only displays and is editable if all of the following criteria is met:

Cash and/or in-kind contributions are allocated to your institution in CPT (including allocations to internal fund schemes).
You have access to the Institution Cash and In-kind Contributions page CPT023 via either a role or User Page Views. If not, contact your RME administrator.

The corresponding eForm application is in an editable state for you.
Background: If the eForm is read-only, this is usually because it is in a workflow state that does not involve you. In this case, CPT pages with editable elements will also be read-only. For example, as a researcher, when you submit an eForm for Grants Office or Review, you can still view it but you can't edit it. In this case, when you go to CPT via the Costing and Pricing button in the eForm, CPT pages with editable elements will also be read-only.

Institution Cash Contributions: Fields

Default Field Label (in sections, in alphabetical order)	Description
Consumable and Capital Items	This section provides details of the cash contributed by the institution for consumable and capital items for the project. What are consumable and capital items?
Amount	Read only Cash amount for the item
Fund Scheme	Read only Internal fund schemes for the institution used to fund the consumable and capital item cash cost Internal fund schemes are any that are linked to the institution (the Primary organisation) in the system. If there are no internal fund schemes, this defaults to the institution abbreviation.
Item	Read only Name of the consumable or capital item
Total	Read only Cash contribution for the item for the project This is the sum of the Amount and Indirect Cost Recovery.
Facilities	This section provides details for the cash contributions for the institution for facilities used for the project.
Amount	Read only Cash amount for the facility
Facility	Read only Name of the facility
Fund Scheme	Read only Internal fund schemes for the institution used to fund the facility cash cost Internal fund schemes are any that are linked to the institution (the Primary organisation) in the system. If there are no internal fund schemes, this defaults to the institution abbreviation.
Total	Read only Cash contribution for the facility for the project This is the sum of the Amount and Indirect Cost Recovery.
Salaries	This section provides details for the cash contributions for the institution for internal investigator salaries.
On-cost	Read only On-cost amount of the cash salary What is on-cost?
Salary	Read only Cash salary amount excluding on-cost
Fund Scheme	Read only; Editable for new staff only Default: Institution (primary organisation) abbreviation Internal fund scheme for the institution used to fund the team member's cash salary cost Internal fund schemes are any that are linked to the institution (the Primary organisation) in the system. If there are no internal fund schemes, this defaults to the institution abbreviation.
Investigator Name	Read only Name of an internal investigator with a salary cost as a cash contribution Cash contributions are those listed on the Project Team page not marked as In-kind.
Total	Read only Cash salary contribution for the investigator for the project This is the sum of the Cash Salary, Cash On-cost, and Indirect Cost Recovery.
Total Cash Contributions	Read only Total cash contribution for the institution for the project This is a sum of the totals for consumable and capital items, facilities and salaries in this section.

Fund Scheme	Editable Internal fund scheme for the institution used to fund the internal member's in-kind salary cost The dropdown lists any internal fund schemes that are linked to the institution (the Primary organisation) in the system. If there are no internal fund schemes, this defaults to the institution abbreviation.
On-cost	Read only On-cost amount of the in-kind salary What is on-cost?
Salary	Read only In-kind salary amount excluding on-cost
Investigator Name	Read only Name of an internal investigator with a salary cost marked as In-kind on the Project Team page
Total	Read only In-kind salary contribution for the investigator for the project This is the sum of the In-kind Salary, In-kind On-cost, and Indirect Cost Recovery.
Total In-kind Contributions	Read only Total in-kind contribution for the institution for the project This is a sum of the totals for consumable and capital items, facilities and salaries in this section.

Total Cash and In-kind Contributions

This is the total of Total Cash Contributions and Total In-kind Contributions from the above sections to show the total contribution for the institution.
