Welcome to ResearchMaster Enterprise (RME)
RME is a web-based research management solution for universities and tertiary institutions that supports the full lifecycle of activities for researchers, higher degree research (HDR) students, and the administrators that assist them.
Critical administrative, funding, and management processes underpin research projects and HDR student candidature. RME provides a complete online solution to support these processes, from data collection, approvals and reviews, data management, and reporting.
It offers a modular product suite with functions that support different areas of the research space: research project management, including project applications, pre-award and post-award grants and funding; ethics application approval processing; management of contracts and intellectual property details; collection of research output details, such as publications and conference proceedings; and management of HDR student course enrolments, thesis submission and examinations.
To provide operational efficiencies in all areas, RME provides online forms, called "eForms", to collect data, driven thorough defined processes by automated workflows.
The system is designed to meet the varying needs of different types of users, including researchers, reviewers, research administrators and managers, faculty staff, HDR students, supervisors and examiners.
Researchers
To support researchers, the Project and Ethics, Contracts and Research Outputs modules and related eForms enable them to easily apply for research projects, funding or grants, and ethics approvals, as well as manage projects, contracts and IP, and research publications and other outputs.
To promote researchers in the public sphere, an additional Public Portal is available, which reflects selected details from RME in a publicly-available website.
Administrative functionality enables project managers and/or administrative staff to collect, manage and report on research activities.
Higher degree research students
To support HDR students, the HDR Student module and related eForms - Higher Degree Research candidature management (HDRCM) and HDR Progress Review (HDR PR) domains - enable institutions to manage and monitor the HDR candidature lifecycle from application and enrolment through to submission, examination and completion.
Administrative functionality enables supervisors and/or administrative staff to collect, manage and report on student activities.
eForms
For each area, eForms can be created to suit all kinds of purposes, including forms for research project and ethics applications, forms to collect research project costs, forms to manage contract and IP reviews and approval, forms to collect and verify publication and other research output details, and forms for HDR student course enrolments, scholarship applications, candidature changes, thesis submission, and examinations.
These eForms are driven seamlessly via defined automated workflows though different stages, such as review, amendment, approval, and administrative tasks.
Integration
RME offers a variety of integration options including a range of APIs and data feeders. Feeders for finance, HR, research outputs and student data, as well as Symplectic integration, can be used to import data from external systems into RME. ARC and NHMRC Grants integrations allow you to import data into RME from these external bodies. ORCID and ABN register integration enables you to connect to these websites for real-time details. You can also integrate with TRIM (Micro Focus Content Manger) to export documents from RME into TRIM.
Administrative functions
A range of supporting functionality underpins key modules and eForms, including system settings, user and personnel management, and configuration functions to set up the system and required data. These functions are usually only available to administrators with assigned access. See: Setup and System overview
